This AstroSonic FAQ answers common questions about personalised birth-chart-inspired soundscapes, AstroSonic Signatures and AstroSonic Union Signatures.
AstroSonic is an original creative method by Nick Gent at The Mind Orchestra. It uses the symbolic structure of a birth chart as source material for frequency calculations, composition, listening and reflection. Astrology provides the interpretive framework; the finished work is personalised sonic art rather than a medical treatment or scientific test of astrology.
What Is AstroSonic?
AstroSonic translates selected birth-chart information into musical decisions and sound. Planetary positions provide a symbolic and mathematical starting point, which is then developed through composition, sound design and listening practice.
What Is An AstroSonic Signature?
An AstroSonic Signature is a personalised soundscape created for one person. The current individual package includes two personalised mixes, a listening guide PDF, mix notes where appropriate and delivery through a private portal.
What Is An AstroSonic Union Signature?
An AstroSonic Union Signature is created for two people. The current package includes two individual Signatures, two mixes for each person, two integrated union mixes, a listening guide, notes and a bespoke birth-chart-inspired geometric sigil.
Is AstroSonic The Same As Astrology?
No. Astrology is a broad family of traditions and interpretive systems. AstroSonic is my own sonic method that uses a birth chart as creative source material. It does not replace an astrological consultation.
Does AstroSonic Predict My Future?
No. AstroSonic is not designed to predict events or tell you what will happen. It is a personalised listening and creative-reflection experience.
What Birth Details Are Needed?
The individual process asks for your date, time and place of birth so a chart can be generated. The coupleā€™s process requires the corresponding details for both people. These details are collected on dedicated intake pages that are kept out of public search.
Do I Need To Understand Astrology?
No. You can simply listen to the finished soundscape. The accompanying material provides context for the creative choices without requiring previous astrological knowledge.
How Should I Listen?
Use headphones if you want to hear fine stereo detail, or comfortable speakers if you prefer an open-room experience. Keep the volume at a relaxed level. You can listen as meditation, creative reflection, ritual, journalling accompaniment or simply as music.
Can Couples Listen Together?
Yes. The Union Signature is designed around two individual source charts and a combined creative process, so the resulting material can be explored separately or together.
Is AstroSonic A Medical Or Therapeutic Treatment?
No. AstroSonic is a creative and contemplative audio commission. It is not a substitute for medical care, counselling, psychotherapy or other professional treatment.
How Much Does It Cost?
